A Haiku Sampler

the skies split open
barren womb ripened at last –
parched bones buzz and bloom

unfailing true north
cradled between stars and cedars –
childhood was my home

paper lanterns sway
over chow mien and laughter –
time is suspended

Cotton candy skies
Like dozens of tulle tutus –
In mid pirouette

Bird of paradise
Sunning your flightless feathers –
Flirting with blue skies

poor sweet pierced lychee
violently drowned and drunk down
piquant to the end

Horizon stretches
Petals tremble like chaste lips –
Spring wakes with a blush

Nine hundred dollars
New tires, kenwood stereo
Summer’s looking up
